General Instruction Manual and Laptop Registration Sent to Applicants

A new General Instruction Manual for bar examination applicants has been emailed to applicants and added to the website here. Please scroll to the end of the page for attachments. The Manual includes all of the information regarding bar exam registration, required items, permitted items and prohibited items, as well as a schedule of testing, the security policy and the honor pledge. The Manual also provides information regarding post-exam interview requirements and grade release. Applicants for the February 2019 exam must upload the attached Acknowledgement to their Synergy application by February 15, 2019, even if they have previously taken the bar examination in Tennessee.

Laptop Registration opened at 10:00 a.m. on January 28, 2019 and will close February 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., Central Standard Time. If you wish to test by laptop, you must register and download the software during open registration. You must purchase a license to use the Examplify software even if you used the same software in law school.

You should have received an email with important information and instructions regarding Laptop Testing and the software download. Please be sure to read the instructions carefully as well as the information included at http://www.tnble.org/tnlaw/first-time/laptop-testing as you may be disqualified from testing by laptop, ejected from the exam, or not have answers graded if you do not follow the instructions included therein. If you have not received the email, please check your spam filter first. If, after checking spam, you still have not received your email, please send an email to BLE.administrator@tncourts.gov.

If you do not register and download the software by the deadline, you will be required to hand-write the examination.

UPDATED 2/4/2019 2:30 PM CST: ExamSoft Registration is now closed.
