Applications for Admission by Examination for the July 2026 examination open on March 1, 2026. Any application you may submit prior to March 1 will not be the correct application and will not serve as an application for admission by examination. You must submit the correct Application for Admission by Examination – July 2026:
- For First Time Examinees: use this if this is your first time taking the examination in Tennessee, you previously applied in Tennessee as a first time applicant but did not sit for the examination, or you have not taken the examination in Tennessee in the last three years; or
- Re-Examination: use this application if you have taken the examination in Tennessee in the last three years and received a score.

The General Instruction Manual and the Acknowledgment Form for the July 2026 Examination have been posted here: https://www.tnble.org/?page_id=290. You are required to read the Manual specific to each exam application (i.e., July 2026) and upload the completed Acknowledgment Form by the Final Deadline as part of the application process each time you apply for the examination.
Exam requirements and processes change from exam to exam. You are required to read the Manual each time you take the exam in Tennessee. Changes for July 2026 include changes to the laptop testing requirements and late arrivals, all of which is included in the Manual.
